Of course there's more...

The three projects featured on this page are just a small sampling of the projects I've successfully completed for clients.

When we meet to discuss your project, you can choose to see more projects from my portfolio.

Translating a classroom course to a virtual course

Project: Diversity Course with Language & Culture Worldwide (LCW)

LCW helps companies develop their workforces through its Intercultural Development Programs, proven to build cross-cultural mindsets for everyone across an organization.

Power of World Views AssetsLCW's client wanted to move a popular instructor-led diversity course into the virtual realm, enabling them to reach a global audience. The challenge was to replicate several impactful group activities into the virtual classroom. Working with a fantastic team comprised of both LCW's and the client's people, my contributions to the highly successful outcome included:

  • Testing and guidance on selection of a virtual classroom tool that could seamlessly handle numerous multimedia components plus allow group interactivity
  • The initial build of the virtual classroom environment, including presentations, video, audio, and activity set-up
  • Designing the project logo and all visuals for the course, including treatments of abstract concepts to aid learner retention

Making inclusion a daily habit

Project: Inclusion Catalyst with Drake Resource Group, Inc. (DRG)

Inclusion project workbookDRG's Fortune 100 client sought a tool to encourage work teams to practice inclusion on a daily basis. Using source material primarily from the books The Medici Effect and Conceptual Blockbusting, I designed a team workbook featuring a series of creative brainstorming activities that can be performed by groups anywhere in the world, using materials that are easy to obtain. The budget was small but the ultimate product was delivered using professional quality graphics in a format that the client could easily update as needed (Microsoft Word with styles).

As sole designer and developer working with one of the client's managers, I:

  • designed all artwork using inexpensive image libraries
  • brainstormed with the subject matter expert to choose the best set of activities for the client’s diverse audience
  • wrote the guide
  • secured rights to repurpose material from the selected books

Sticky Business helps non-profits clarify messages

Project: "Sticky Business" workshop for AHA! Alliance for Humane Action

Many small non-profits, particularly humane organizations, have important messages to convey but need help drilling to the core of their message first. Finding the core message is essential to designing communications that reach people and motivate them to take action.

Sticky Business WorkshopSecuring permission from the authors to create a workshop based on their best-selling book Made To Stick, I worked with Aimee St. Arnaud of Humane Ohio to adapt the core principles of this compelling book into an active half-day workshop for employees and volunteers of non-profit organizations. The workshop is titled Sticky Business: How to Create Messages that are "Made to Stick."

Proven humane campaigns from across the country are included as case studies, and participants worked through activities including a "core message distiller" exercise to begin crafting their own "sticky" messages for their organizations.

The workshop debuted at the PetSmart Charities Rescue Waggin' east coast summit in fall of 2008.
